Differenzler – the Swiss prediction Jass online

Differenzler is one of Switzerland's favourite Jass games: four players, each for himself, 36 cards. The dealer's last card fixes trumps, and before play everyone predicts how many card points (0 to 157) they will take. It is not about taking the most points but about hitting your forecast: the difference between prediction and points taken is your penalty, and the lowest total wins. Practise against computer players of three strengths or play with friends.

The rules in brief

• The dealer’s last card is turned up: its suit is trump
• Everyone predicts beforehand how many points he will take (0–157)
• Penalty = difference between prediction and points – lowest total wins
